Using in-game commands on a Valheim server requires admin rights. This guide will walk you through how to grant admin rights to yourself or a friend on your Valheim server.

Find Steam64ID

First, we need to obtain the Steam64 ID of the admin to be added. The ID is easily identifiable as a long string of numbers. You can use either of the methods below to find the ID:

In-game:

1. Join the server.
2. Press the F2 key.
3. In the menu that appears, you will see the steamID as a long string of numbers immediately after the nickname.

Note: If you want to get a friend's SteamID, your friend must also be connected to the same server as you.

From the browser:

1. Visit the website https://steamid.io/
2. Enter your or your friend's Steam profile link in the input field
3. You will see the desired ID in the Steam64 section

Add Admin to Valheim Server:

1. Navigate to your server's control panel.
2. Select the desired server and click on the "Configuration files" tab below it.
3. Then select adminlist.txt and open it in a text editor.
4. Add one Steam64ID per line and then save the file (remember to also restart the server).
